Halifax is the birthplace of ROUTE Halifax Saint-Pierre where co-founders, Philippe Paturel and Hal Davies, created the race back in 2002.  For the past 9 editions, Halifax has welcomed the fleet of competitors from Canada, USA, Saint-Pierre et Miquelon and Europe always enjoying the beauties of the city and its exceptional waters.

Route Halifax Saint-Pierre is a strong link between Nova Scotia, Eastern Canada and the French Archipelago. Close relationships between the two countries have grown throughout the years. As Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, Halifax is committed to this splendid event gathering sailors from all around the world, local population and a large public in an atmosphere of both competition and conviviality.

ROute Halifax Saint-Pierre Halifax Waterfront

For the first time in 2018, Halifax welcomes the fleet of ROUTE Halifax Saint-Pierre in the impressive settings of Halifax Waterfront marinas.

Halifax Waterfront is located downtown historical Halifax.

Since 1976, Develop Nova Scotia, ex Waterfront Development, has restored the historic harbour of Halifax and expanded the buildings until Bedford, Dartmouth, and Lunenburg waterfronts.

Thousands of visitors from all around the world are coming every year to enjoy the beauties of the seaside. Sailing is a culture in Nova Scotia and Develop NovaScotia is dedicated to the success of ROUTE Halifax Saint-Pierre.

A hub of culture and entertainment in Nova Scotia

Halifax Waterfront with its spectacular location on the water’s edge is one of the most visited destination of Nova Scotia in Canada.

One of the world’s longest downtown boardwalks allows to enjoy the sparkling ocean. The working port is full of life, fantastic boats and museums tell about the legendary history of Halifax harbor. You can find some of the city’s best restaurants and eclectic shops and, least but not last, do not miss the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market.

Halifax Waterfront also welcomes large jazz, film and music festival and the Tall Ships, one of the biggest sailing event of Develop Nova Scotia together with ROUTE Halifax Saint-Pierre.
