Restore Ocean health and protect our local waters
Did you know that 8 million metric tons of plastic enters the ocean from land each year, there are 90% less large fish in the sea and it is estimated that 99% of the sea birds will have plastic in their stomach by 2050. Acting is an emergency!
Sailors for the Sea is the largest worldwide organization exclusively dedicated to Sustainable Development Certification for the boating community.
In 2016, 1.300.000 people got involved to protect the environment with Sailors for the Sea. The Certification Programs have been applied by more than 800 competitions in 49 countries and 40 States of USA.
ROUTE Saint-Pierre et Miquelon fully committed
ROUTE Saint-Pierre et Miquelon is proud to announce that we have joined the race to restore ocean health with Sailors for the Sea’s Clean Regattas program.
The Archipelago of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon is at the forefront of the maritime life treasures. Belugas, sperm whales, white-beaked dolphins, humpback whales, killer whales, seals … dozens of species of birds, sometimes rare, nest protected from its shores. This heritage of priceless richness is particularly fragile and we are committed to preserving it.
