The come-back of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon at the highest level of international competitions! With its successful history in Offshore racing, the Archipelago is back to catch the podiums of the Atlantic.

The launch of this long term program starts with the construction of a last generation CLASS40 who will race against the best crews both sides of the Atlantic.

This new campaign will promote the colors of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon Des îles d’exception and its partners. A campaign highly expected by all, both sailors, anxious to meet and compete again with the renowned crew, and the public, who will discover the charms of the little French Archipelago.

A One Design Class for over 10 years, the CLASS40 is a 40 footer monohull (12,18 m). Its simple and stringent box-rule has attracted many great sailors and a fleet of more than 150 boats is sailing nowadays all over the world.

This very active Class is appreciated both by experienced amateur sailors and professional teams who share their passion with conviviality, under the same spirit of ROUTE Halifax Saint-Pierre.

A rich program of international year-round competitions adds to all the qualities that made the motivated choice of the CLASS40 for Saint-Pierre et Miquelon.

competitions in North America and Europe

Solo, Double handed or fully crewed depending of the races, the CLASS40 “Saint-Pierre et Miquelon” shall be on the start line of the most prestigious competitions of the Atlantic Ocean: ROUTE Halifax Saint-Pierre, of course, the US Atlantic Cup just before, and the Caribbean circuit: the RORC Caribbean 600 in Antigua, the Heineken Regatta in St Maarten and Les Voiles de Saint Barth, as well as on the other side of the Atlantic, the European circuit and of course the Transatlantic races : Transat Jacques Vabre, Route du Rhum and Québec/Saint-Malo.

An intense program all year long for an omnipresence of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon on the Ocean racing circuit.

A high level crew

Philippe Paturel et Sylvain Barrielle, co skippers du CLASS40 Saint-Pierre et Miquelon

A pair who won numerous sailing competitions: Philippe Paturel and Sylvain Barrielle will be co-skipper of the CLASS40 “Saint-Pierre & Miquelon” for solo or double handed races. A crew of mixed experienced sailors from the America’s Cup, the Volvo Ocean Race and the Maxi series will complete the team for the full crew program.

Philippe, from Saint-Pierre, has won many races in 35-to-60-footer monohulls in both North American and European competitions. Philippe is also the founder of Route Saint-Pierre et Miquelon.

Sylvain, originally from Marseille, continues his brilliant nautical career in San Francisco, after 6 America’s Cup and competitions of all types on monohulls and multihulls, single, double handed or fully crewed.

A team who shall be considered as serious candidates by the competitors on the start line!
